Every paid file on SVG DROP is sold with a commercial license, included in the price. If you want to use a file for print on demand, produce it without a ceiling on quantity, or hand the finished work to a client, that is the Extended license, and you can add it in the basket for twice the price of the file.
These terms apply to the file you bought, on the order you bought it on. Buying a file once and upgrading later means the upgrade applies from the moment it is paid for.
Effective 19 September 2026. Files bought before that date keep the terms they were sold under, which placed no ceiling on how many items you could make. The 500 item figure below applies to orders placed from that date onward.
Commercial license
Included with every paid file. No extra step, nothing to tick.
What you can do
- Make physical items with the design and sell them: shirts, tumblers, mugs, signs, cards, vinyl, sublimation, laser and anything else you cut, press or print yourself.
- Sell those items wherever you sell: craft fairs, markets, your own Etsy, Shopify or Amazon shop, local orders, wholesale to a shop you supply.
- Use the design in your own marketing: photos of the finished item, listing images, social posts, your shop banner.
- Edit the file. Change the colours, cut it apart, combine it with your own work, resize it, redraw a part of it.
- Work as a one person business or a small team. The license covers the business that bought it.
What it does not cover
- Print on demand services that hold your artwork and print on order, such as Printify, Printful, Merch on Demand, Redbubble, Teespring, Zazzle, Society6 and anything that works the same way.
- Production runs beyond 500 finished items per design.
- Work you deliver to a client as their design, or files produced under an agency or studio arrangement for someone else’s brand.
Extended license
Twice the price of the file, added in the basket or on the product page. On a 2.99 file that is 5.99. Everything in the commercial license, plus the three things it leaves out.
Print on demand
You can upload the design to a print on demand service and let it print to order. That includes Printify, Printful, Amazon Merch on Demand, Redbubble, Teespring, Zazzle, Society6, Spring, Gelato and equivalents. Upload it as your own product, under your own shop, for items the service prints and ships.
The design still cannot be uploaded to a service as artwork other people can buy, license or download. Print on demand means the service prints your product. It does not mean the service distributes the file.
Unlimited production
No cap on how many finished items you make or sell from one design. No cap on how many products, listings or variants you build from it. No reporting, no additional payment once you pass a number.
Agency and client work
You can use the design in work you deliver for a client, including a client’s branding, packaging, merchandise or campaign. One Extended license covers the design across one client project. If you want to use the same design for a second, unrelated client, buy the license again for that project.
You can hand the client the finished artwork. You cannot hand them the source file as an asset they are free to reuse, resell or pass on, unless they buy their own license.
What no license allows
These apply to both tiers, and they are the short list of things that would put the file back in circulation as a file.
- Reselling, sharing, gifting or giving away the file itself, edited or not, on its own or inside a bundle, a course, a membership, a template pack or a subscription.
- Uploading the file to any site, drive, group or marketplace where other people can download it.
- Claiming the design as your own original work, or registering a copyright or trademark on it.
- Using the design in anything hateful, defamatory, pornographic or unlawful.
- Training or fine tuning a machine learning model on the file.
Designs that feature characters, logos or brands
Some files in the shop depict characters, names, logos or styles associated with films, games, shows, teams and brands. What you buy from us is the artwork file and the right to use it as set out above. It is not permission from the rights holder.
Trademark and character rights belong to whoever owns them, and nothing on this page grants any part of them. Before you sell an item based on one of these designs, or upload it to a print on demand service, it is on you to check that you are allowed to. Many rights holders do not permit it at any scale, and marketplaces remove listings and close shops over it.
Our advice, plainly: treat those files as personal use unless you hold a licence from the rights holder.
Refunds
A digital file is delivered the moment payment clears, so a file that downloaded correctly is not refundable. If a file is damaged, missing a format it was listed with, or not what the listing described, tell us and we will fix it or refund it. The same goes for a license upgrade you bought by mistake, as long as you have not used it.
If you are not sure
Ask before you print. Tell us what you are making and where you plan to sell it, and we will tell you which license covers it. An answer before a production run costs nothing; a listing taken down after one costs a great deal.
